India’s Tata will buy Jaguar, Land Rover

Submitted by on March 26, 2008 – 11:18 pm4 Comments

Tata, the makers of the $2500 car will hope to purchase Jaguar and Land Rover. I can only wonder what this will be like at the luxury car dealership. Lincoln, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Tata. You can buy a car for over 200k and one under 3K all at the same place. Let’s see, Ford sells Aston Marting to Prodrive and they win LeMans. Ford sells Jaguar, Maybe Jaguar is voted best import car of the year… Land Rover, well, honestly who give a shit! I read that even Fiat was going to throw in with Tata. Man, what a shit box could come out of that mix… OR could it be genius?

“India’s Tata Motors has confirmed it will acquire British automakers Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Company for $2.3 billion — less than half of what Ford paid for the two luxury brands. “

If Ford is going to cut a deal like that, I wonder why they won’t sell me a car at 1/2 price? Seems fair. And I’ll be a loyal customer. I’ll even take one of the FORD Jags off the lot (With the extended warranty). I’ll also take a Ford GT for the special price of 50% off. Toss in a baseball cap too, done deal. I’ll hold off on any Volvo products at this time. So it seems no more ‘Premier’ Auto Group, well except for the Lincoln’s (wink wink) The bad news is someone will have to update the Ford website. Could be a very costly move for Ford, as the work was likely done in India, Oh well.

My solution to the Ford problems are simple ‘Criss Cross’* Here is how it would work…

Ford becomes in agreement with Tata Motors to Manufacture the fine Jaguar and Land Rover line of vehicles in India and in exchange Ford would get the rights to distribute (Not build) the $2500 car in the US. They will agree to $1500 for a quantity purchase, then Ford will raise the price to $7500, still sell, oh, a 10 Million of them here, and turn the company around. It’s simple math, like making change, you make money by volume.

I’m glad GM and Christ-ler don’t have financial problems like these, er, well maybe I should be happy for Ford…

I would call it rambles more then writing :-) I’m now sorry that I didn’t pay more attention to English classes in school, but what can you do. It is all about the fun of getting the crazy out on virtual paper. I figured I would see what it’s like to look at what I think out loud so to speak…

Tata(s) ?!?! Isn’t this a euphimisim for female breasts ??? So, Tata Motors are the ‘tits’, then !!!

Go figure, who’s have ever thought that Jag and Rover (I’ve owned a couple of each) would be LITERALLY considered the ‘tits’ of motorcars ?!?!?!

Jes when ya tnink you’ve seen it all…

Yep, not sure why it took so long for this to come up ;-) . I can’t wait to see some ‘Tricked’ out version of the Tata. I think you can get a lot of mileage out of this!

    Thanks for the post!
