Back to regular dates

Aug 25, 2007 - Going to pick up the White Sunbeam Tiger. This was an Ebay car and I hope that is was as advertised. It is a 1966 Mk1A with a 260 Small block ford and a top loader. Car should weight in about 2600 lbs in stock trim. Don't worry I have an aluminum 347 Dart block going in (special 3.25" stroke 4.125" bore). And yes, a mechanical roller cam for those that have to ask. Plans include the motor, some headers, likely removal of
the stock 2.88 gear and replace with a less practical 3.54 as well as some 15" panasports. More as that project unfolds.

Stardate Aug 12, 2007 - Almost ready to fire the 454 in the VSE Cobra got the last of the crap work out of the way. Filled her up with some diesel motor oil and started priming the system with the hand drill and primer shaft. Clunk, 'What the F...', the head of the primer tool (a cup) came off and fell into the motor under the cam gear. No way to get it out. Didn't make it to the pan either. So I have to yank the motor out again and take it apart to get the metal part out of the motor. I hope that is the glitch for the mission. The moral of the story is pay attention and if something sounds wrong it is, and look before you leap.
